ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- The St. Joseph Area Transportation Study Organization (SJATSO) is surveying to get feedback from the public regarding traffic and pedestrian safety.

The survey features a variety of transportation-related questions, such as general safety concerns with transportation and potential improvements that could be implemented.

"The ultimate goal of our survey is to prevent serious injuries (from happening) and fatal car crashes in our region." Transportation Planner, Jackson Lohman said. "Doing the survey really helps us connect with the public and get their voice heard. At the end of the day, nobody knows our neighborhoods and the safety issues that come with them better than the people that live and travel there every day."

Feedback from the survey will be used in the SJATSO's safety action plan. The survey will be actively running until December, with questions possibly being added based on responses.

The SJATSO has additional information on the survey and how to participate on the City of St. Joseph Facebook page.
