ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- The 'No Kings II" rally was held this morning at the corner of Belt Highway and Frederick Avenue.

The rally was sponsored by the Persisterhood, with participants of the rally sporting flags, signs and megaphones, along with proper protection against the heat.

Many activists at the rally were vocal about expressing their thoughts on discussion of peoples rights.

"We want to make a statement," Blue Missouri Executive director Jess Piper said. "It's important for everyone to show up. I was a teacher for a long time, I taught (students) the words of the Constitution to the Declaration of Independence. I know what it meant. The Declaration of Independence was a list of grievances against the King. That is exactly what's happening here."

Additional information from the rally can be found on the Persisterhoods Facebook page.
