ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- In an effort to expose more people to flying and aviation, the Pony Express STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) held a flight competition at the Rosecrans Memorial Airport.

Multiple pilots participated to showcase aerial skills and performances.

"Prepping for this event is a lot of people don't know what you mean when you say stall," Pony Express STOL chairman of planning committee Julius Rice said. "They may be familiar with it once you start explaining it, but being able to bring it into Saint Joseph as a brand new event for the community has been great."

The competition concluded today.
