A driver suffered injuries after crashing into the U.S. bank at 800 N. Belt Highway.

The St. Joseph Police Department received the call on Saturday at 8:02 a.m., and Sgt. Chris Thomas said the driver was taken to Mosaic Life Care.

“It was possible that it was a medical issue when they hit the bank—hit the wall,” he said.

A portion of the front of the bank is covered in plywood, and debris from the accident was strewn across the sidewalk and grass in front of the building. Wooden support beams are also supporting the roof where columns once stood.
