Tracking a warm Tuesday followed by a wet week ahead

Another warm and mild day is ahead for the St. Joseph region. Morning temperatures will rise quickly into the upper 60s and low 70s at the bus stop before climbing into the upper 80s to low 90s this afternoon.

Most of the day will remain dry, though a few scattered showers may develop during the morning commute into early afternoon. Rain chances increase after sunset and continue into early Wednesday.

Wednesday will mark the beginning of a cooling trend, with highs dropping more than 10 degrees compared to recent days. Showers and thunderstorms are likely, with a 60% chance of rain. Storms are expected to remain non-severe, and highs will reach the mid-80s — still about 5 to 6 degrees above average for this time of year.

Another round of scattered showers and storms is expected Thursday, also carrying a 60% chance of rain and non-severe conditions.

By Friday and Saturday, highs will settle into the upper 70s and low 80s, bringing welcome relief from the recent stretch of heat. Dry weather is expected to return by the weekend, with temperatures holding steady in the low 80s and upper 70s.
