At least three students shot at Evergreen High School after reports of ‘active assailant’

EVERGREEN, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says at least three students were shot at Evergreen High School on Wednesday afternoon, our partners at 9News report. The sheriff's office says one of the people taken to the hospital was the alleged shooter.
According to preliminary information, the sheriff's office believes the alleged shooter was a student. It's unknown if they are male or female.
St. Anthony's Hospital confirmed to 9News that they have three patients from the shooting who are in critical condition.
As of 3 p.m., the sheriff's office said the school is all clear.
Dispatch is asking that parents who have students at the school not go directly there, as there is an active scene.
Parents should meet at the reunification location: Bergen Meadow Elementary School, 1928 Hiwan Dr.
"Students should be able to attend school safely and without fear across our state and nation. We are all praying for the victims and the entire community," a statement from Gov. Polis read in part.
