Scott had an MRI and it revealed he has a left ankle sprain. He collided with the outfield wall in pursuit of Aaron Judge’s home run in the third inning of Saturday’s game, a 12-8 Yankees victory. Outfielder Nathan Church and left-handed pitcher Anthony Veneziano have been selected from Triple-A Memphis. Right-handed pitcher Roddery Muñoz was optioned to Memphis.

SUMMARY: Cody Bellinger drove in three runs, Paul Goldschmidt had three hits against his former team and the New York Yankees beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-4 on Sunday for a series sweep. Second baseman Thomas Saggese made two errors in the Yankees’ four-run ninth. He threw wildly to first, and leadoff batter José Caballero took second and then third on a passed ball. Walks to pinch-hitter Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge loaded the bases. Saggese let Bellinger’s grounder get by him for two runs. Judge then scored on a fielder’s choice. Goldschmidt, who played for St. Louis from 2019-24, hit his second double for the final run. Luke Weaver (3-3) pitched the final 1 1/3 innings. JoJo Romero (4-5) took the loss.

SUMMARY: O’Reilly Auto Parts will become the title sponsor for NASCAR’s second-tier national series when the Xfinity Series is renamed. The multiyear partnership was announced Monday. It includes promotional opportunities and brand integrations with The CW Network, which is the exclusive broadcast partner for the series. The renaming will take effect on Jan. 1. O’Reilly Auto Parts becomes the fourth title sponsor in the series’ history. The company was founded in Springfield, Missouri, in 1957 and today has more than 6,400 locations across 48 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada.

SUMMARY: Nebraska-Omaha basketball player Deng Mayar has drowned in a Utah reservoir. Herriman police said the 22-year-old Mayar died at Blackridge Reservoir on Saturday after going underwater about 35 yards from shore. Police had responded to a 911 call reporting two people in distress at the reservoir. Twenty-one-year-old Sa Mafutaga made it to shore and then went back into the water to try and rescue Mayar, but could not. Bystanders entered the water to aid Mafutaga, who was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital. The report said Mafutaga is expected to recover. Mayar’s body was recovered from the reservoir by authorities.
