An Iowa pharmacist is facing possible disciplinary action for incorrectly filling a prescription.

The Iowa Board of Pharmacy has charged pharmacist Heather Henkelvig of Danville with the regulatory violation of dispensing an incorrect prescription. The board has not publicly disclosed any information as to the extent of the alleged error, where it occurred, when it occurred, the pharmacy that was involved, or the patient outcome.

In fact, the board found probable cause to charge Henkelvig in August, but the charge itself was made public only this week.

Board documents indicate Henkelvig “practices in Washington, Iowa,” but she was reached Tuesday at a Hy-Vee pharmacy in Mount Pleasant where she is currently employed. Henkelvig declined to comment on the case.

The Board of Pharmacy has scheduled a hearing on the matter for March 5, 2025.
