Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn. Meg is an artist who manipulates alphabet letters to create feelings and make a message quickly understood. This book is not a canned romance plot. The author grows the book carefully and in measured steps that keep you reading in spite of yourself. If you like characters that grow and relationships that develop in a meaningful way, this is your book. It’s a book you can reread and see something differently each time.
The Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. A fantasy romance novel recommended for fans of The Hunger Games books. This book received the Goodreads Choice Award, Favorite Romantasy category. Set in a war college consisting of four quadrants, Riders, Healers, Scribes and Infantry. Violet, daughter of the commanding general, expects to join the Scribes Quadrant but finds herself becoming a Dragon Rider, where dragons choose their riders and incinerate those they reject. Here she meets Xander and follows a rocky road to romance.
Better Than Friends by Jill Shalvis. One of the Sunrise Cove series, a mystery/romance novel set at Lake Tahoe. When Olive Porter’s parents go missing, she turns to her ex, Noah Turner, for help. He is a special investigative agent for the National Park Service recuperating from a job injury. Does he want to get entangled with his ex again or continue to recuperate with his annoyingly smothering family. Olive is not happy asking Noah, but she does trust him, or doesn’t she?
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. An expanded reworking of The Beauty and the Beast, this is the first of a series (Cursebreaker Book 1). When Jordan tries to save a stranger on the streets of Washinton DC she is transported to a magical world. Here Prince Rhen must break a curse to save his kingdom. It’s not easy to do when you have turned into a beast and must make a girl fall in love with you to break a curse.
