Local groups present program on St. Joseph’s connection to migration to Oregon and California

The program will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at the Center for JOY, located at 1202 Felix St.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Members of Gateway and the St. Joseph Public Library are set to present a program to dive into one of St. Joseph's historic stories on Saturday, June 14.

"End of the Trail: Stories and Grave Sites Along the Saint Joe Road, trail tales of the 1850s migration to Oregon and California" will focus on causes of deaths on the Trail, stories of intrigue and Missouri River ferry disasters, as well as graves on the Trail.

Speakers include: Dr. Kim Schutte, Marina Trifan, Karen McClellan, Jackie Lewin and Wendell Ganstrom.

The program will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at the Center for JOY, located at 1202 Felix St.

Period refreshments will be served.
