Downtown’s kick off party for Sound of Speed

The Sound of Speed Airshow will begin Saturday morning at Rosecrans Memorial Airport, but the Downtown Association started the party early with a kick off party Friday night.

To celebrate one of St. Joseph’s largest attractions, the Sound of Speed Airshow Kick Off party in Coleman Hawkins Park invited St. Joseph residents to enjoy live music performed by “Under the Influence” and possibly meet some of the pilots flying in the airshow.

The Air National Guard set up a recruitment tent in hopes of enlisting a few new airmen. Possibly next year, St. Joseph residents will be watching the Sound of Speed Air Show and see one of the Guard’s newest airman flying next to the Thunderbirds.
