Edward Young and Vicki Trimmell were married Jan. 1, 1966, in Wichita, Kansas, at the 1st Baptist Church. They have lived in St. Joseph since 1971.

They have two sons, James and Dean, and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Aleksandr, Jesse, Ann and Danielle.
