A taste of winter is likely for late next week

By Meteorologist Jared Shelton As fall 2024 continues rolling forward across the Northern Hemisphere, parts of the United States have already had a taste of winter. Your neighbor is not your enemy

By NewsPress Now As election results came in Tuesday night, one thing became abundantly clear. About half the population will believe the country is doomed following Donald Trump’s victory. A Kamala Harris victory would have prompted the same “sky-is-falling-in” reaction from the other half of the electorate. Maybe that’s the one unifying element in this

Hoping it’s not too late

By Alonzo Weston When I woke up Monday morning, it felt like Sept. 10, 2001, the day before the 9/11 attacks. The only difference then was I had no idea about the attacks and how the world would change in the aftermath. This time I knew things would change after this election, no matter who

By NewsPress Now Your letters for Nov. 1, 2024 Why? The editorial endorsement of Josh Hawley should come as no surprise, since you are a 3-timer for Trump, but why? Warmth, wind, and storms of October 2024

By Jared Shelton News-Press NOW meteorologist Halloween was cool and breezy across the Mid-Missouri River Valley, but much of October was on the toasty side. More than half of the lower 48 states felt periodic waves of fall warmth during the past 31 days, and the Central Plains region was no exception. High temperatures in

By NewsPress Now Getting tired I’m getting tired of the Democratic Party. Even Robert Kennedy Jr. said they’ve changed drastically for the worst and Kamala Harris is constantly making fun of Donald Trump. Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, those comedians make horrible statements on their shows. I won’t even watch it anymore. Time for changes to

By NewsPress Now What has he done? I see where the News-Press is endorsing Josh Hawley. What has he done for Northwest Missouri? He voted against the infrastructure bill. He never has town hall meetings, and he made a fool of himself at the Senate hearings. She defeated herself Kamala Harris has just defeated herself.
