US-MED–Infant Formula-Botulism Recall-Explainer

Preliminary tests find germ that causes botulism in ByHeart baby formula

SUMMARY: California health officials say tests show that ByHeart baby formula linked to a botulism outbreak contained the type of bacteria that produces the toxin that has sickened at least 13 infants in 10 states. No deaths have been reported. The most recent cases were confirmed in November. Consumers should stop using ByHeart powdered infant formula immediately. ByHeart officials this weekend recalled two lots of the company’s Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. Botulism is a rare but serious disease that can cause paralysis and death. Symptoms can take weeks to develop.

Arctic air hits much of the US, bringing snow to some areas and very chilly temperatures to Florida

SUMMARY: A blast of the season’s first frigid air was bearing down on much of the U.S., bringing the prospect of snow to parts of the country and plunging temperatures in Florida — though it may not get cold enough there for iguanas to tumble from the treetops. National Weather Service forecasters said frigid Arctic air will pour into the eastern two-thirds of the country on Monday, bringing with it the chance for record temperatures in the U.S. Southeast. That includes all of Florida, where temperatures in parts of the state were near 80 degrees Fahrenheit just a day ago.

Ravens win 3rd straight game, get 3 takeaways to take down gaffe-prone Vikings 27-19

SUMMARY: Lamar Jackson played it patient and smart in his second game back from injury, and the Baltimore Ravens continued their defensive resurgence to beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-19 for their third straight victory. Malaki Starks and Marlon Humphrey each intercepted deep passes by J.J. McCarthy. His touchdown throw to Jalen Nailor with 3:19 left cut Baltimore’s lead to one possession, but was too little, too late for Minnesota. The Ravens turned three takeaways into 13 points. FBN–Vikings-False Starts

Vikings flagged for 8 false starts in loss to Ravens. McCarthy takes ‘full responsibility’

SUMMARY: The Minnesota Vikings know what they need to work on after their loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Vikings committed eight false-start penalties on Sunday. That was the most in a game by any team since the Carolina Panthers at Seattle on Sept. 24, 2023, according to Sportradar. And it was the most by a home team since the Buffalo Bills had nine against Cleveland on Oct. 11, 2009. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy says he takes full responsibility for the Vikings’ mistakes and missed opportunities. It was the fourth NFL start for McCarthy, who threw two interceptions.
