US-Supreme Court-Missouri Gun Law

Supreme Court rebuffs push to revive Missouri law barring police from enforcing some U.S. gun laws

SUMMARY: The Supreme Court is refusing to revive a controversial Missouri gun law that bans police from enforcing some federal firearm laws. The high court rejected a push Monday to hear arguments over whether the state can block police from enforcing federal gun laws that don’t have an equivalent state law. The measure imposed $50,000 fines for officers who knowingly enforced those federal laws, which include possession of firearms by some domestic violence offenders and weapons registration and tracking. Lower courts found the 2019 law violated the Supremacy Clause, a section of the U.S. Constitution that says federal law takes precedence over state laws.

No more dysfunction? Surprising Jaguars seem aligned for the first time in a decade, and it shows

SUMMARY: Jacksonville’s recent failures are fueling their current success. The Jaguars are 3-1 and seem truly aligned for the first time in a decade. No hidden agendas. No throwing each other under the bus. No one angling for more credit or leverage with ownership. It’s the kind of unified direction that has made Jacksonville one of the NFL’s biggest surprises over the first month of the season. The Jaguars have a chance to showcase their growth on a national stage when they host three-time defending AFC champion Kansas City on “Monday Night Football.”

Jordan Addison’s late touchdown gives Vikings 21-17 win over Browns in London

SUMMARY: Vikings receiver Jordan Addison caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Carson Wentz with 25 seconds left to give Minnesota a 21-17 victory over the Cleveland Browns at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 10-play, 80-yard drive gave the Vikings a much-needed win on their historic international road trip, which started with a 24-21 loss to the Steelers in Dublin last week. It also spoiled Dillon Gabriel’s first NFL start, as the Browns rookie put his team in position to win by throwing two touchdown passes. Fellow rookie Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 yards on 23 carries. Wentz shook off a shoulder injury that briefly sent him to the locker room and led two scoring drives in the second half.

FBN–Browns-Gabriel

Browns rookie QB Gabriel says ‘no moral victories’ after 1st NFL start ends in loss to Vikings

SUMMARY: New starting quarterback, same old result for the Browns. This one was a little different. Until Sunday, no quarterback had ever made his first NFL start in an international game. Dillon Gabriel, Cleveland’s ninth quarterback since 2022, certainly wasn’t overwhelmed when he took the field against the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He threw two touchdown passes but the Vikings went home with the 21-17 victory after Carson Wentz found Jordan Addison for a 12-yard touchdown pass with 25 seconds left.
