ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Chiefs fans were not happy when staff members announced fans had to evacuate MoWest's campus during Chiefs Training Camp on Wednesday due to lightning in the area.

Shortly after fans evacuated, players and media were told to head inside the Griffons Inside Sports Complex to complete the remainder of practice.

With only a few more days before the Chiefs' first preseason game in Arizona on Saturday, Aug. 8, every player who talked to the media on Wednesday said they were excited to get into a real game scenario.

Chiefs defensive coordinator, Dave Spagnuolo, said he's excited for one rookie to get out of his adjustment stage and get into a game.

"I've been really impressed with what Nohl [Williams] has done to this point. I think he's going through a bit of an adjusting phase," Spagnuolo said. "I want to see him in a game situation, but he looks like an aggressive guy, and we like that first."

Travis Kelce also talked to the media for the first time this training camp year. With the idea of retirement looming over Kelce throughout camp, he did not want to answer questions about his time with the Chiefs or in St Joseph for camp.

He said, "You can ask me that when I retire."

The Chiefs' first preseason game is set for Saturday, Aug. 8. The Chiefs will visit the Arizona Cardinals, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
