ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- St. Joseph residents looking for something fun to do this weekend will find a range of events designed to bring the community together, from bowling for a cause to live music, vintage cars and shopping.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater St. Joseph will host Bowl for Kids’ Sake on Friday, Aug. 8, at Revolution Lanes. The annual fundraiser is known as one of the organization’s big gest feel-good events of the summer. Attendees can enjoy cosmic bowling, pizza and prizes during one of two bowling sessions, offered at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Teams of six are encouraged to sign up in advance through the Big Brothers Big Sisters website. Proceeds support local mentorship programs.

On Saturday, Cruisin’ the Village returns to East Ridge Village from 4 p.m. until dark. The monthly event, held every second Saturday, features classic cars, raffles and family-friendly entertainment. Hazel’s Coffee will remain open late during the event, offering drinks and food in a relaxed atmosphere. Adrian Tacos will also be serving on-site.

Later Saturday evening, The People’s Market will set up on the patio of Mokaska Coffee from 6 to 8 p.m. The twice-monthly night market showcases local artists, farmers and makers, offering everything from produce and handmade goods to live music and artwork.
