Hazy skies today but staying cool and dry

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Good morning all! The pleasant weather trend will continue over the next few days, but we will add in some haziness into the mix. Smoke from wildfires in Arizona and Canada has entered our local skies and could pose risks for our most sensitive groups. Most of the smoke will remain aloft, so many of us will not even notice it, aside from the milky skies.

High temperatures will remain cool through the weekend, reaching the high 70s each day. Normal this time of year is the high 80s, so we will remain well below that. It will definitely be cool and comfortable heading into the weekend.

Our next best chance of rain comes in on Sunday. Right now I have low to medium confidence that we will see at least a shower or two on Sunday. In the meantime, we will remain dry through Saturday. Enjoy this pleasant weather to start off the month of August!
