Tracking another hot week with several rain chances
We’ve definitely been delivering on the heat and humidity over the past several days—and unfortunately, we won’t see much relief any time soon. As we head into Sunday evening, conditions remain warm and muggy. Overnight lows will only dip to around 70°, so the heat and humidity will stick with us through the night.
Looking ahead to Monday, expect highs near 90° with persistent humidity making it feel even warmer. There’s a slight 10% chance of rain during the day, as a system in Iowa and another sliding along the I-70 corridor near Kansas City could trigger isolated pop-up showers or weak thunderstorms, especially into the late evening hours. Still, Monday should stay mostly dry for most of us.
Tuesday is shaping up to be the wettest day of the week. Forecast models suggest that the most organized thunderstorms will likely form closer to the I-70 corridor, but some scattered showers or storms may reach our area as well. Keep an eye on updates, as any shift in the storm track could bring more impactful weather to northwest Missouri.
Behind Tuesday’s system, temperatures remain elevated—generally in the upper 80s to low 90s—throughout much of the week. Another chance for rain arrives on Friday, which could help cool temperatures back into the low 80s by Saturday.
Overall, rain chances this week will be scattered and not widespread enough to cause a washout. Just be sure to keep both your umbrella and sunglasses handy—you’ll probably need both at some point!
