Winters, Matthew 1977-2025 Overland Park, Kan.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Matthew Winters, 48, Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born Jan. 10, 1977, in St. Joseph, to Gary and Joy (Pedersen) Winters. Matthew graduated from Central High School and attended Johnson County Community College.

Matthew was a service tech for Royal Cup Coffee and previously worked for PepsiCo.

Family came first for Matthew. He was a loving father to Claire, who was the center of his world.

Matthew enjoyed life and was always up for anything fun, including going to the lake, boating, camping, motorcycles, Chiefs and Royals.

Survivors include his daughter, Claire; his father, Gary Winters (Chris); his mother, Joy Winters (Randy Dedrickson); siblings, Todd Winters (Stacy), Gina Belich (Jessie), and Maggie Miller; aunt and uncle, Janet and Larry Kramer; cousins, niece and nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

Farewell Services 1 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Todd Winters for a trust for Matthew’s daughter, Claire.
