Caples, Karen S. 1941-2025 Savannah, Mo.

SAVANNAH, Mo. – Karen S. Caples, 83, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born Sept. 24, 1941, to Oak and Mildred (Patterson) Benner, in St. Joseph.

Karen married Robert Caples on Sept. 30, 1976, and were married for 10 years before his passing.

She retired from Mosaic Life Care as a Unit Secretary in the Maternity Ward after 35 years.

Karen enjoyed camping with family, fishing with her sisters, and watching her favorite cowboy shows. She was also a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruthie Benner and Patricia Sparks; and many cousins.

Survivors include her son, Michael Christensen (Gina); granddaughter, Mindy Christofferson (Chris); great-granddaughters, Shelbie and Sadie Christofferson; niece, Sara Green (Kenny); nephews, Dustin Green, David Green, and his daughter, Hazel Green; many nieces and nephews.

Service 1 p.m. Saturday, Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Inurnment Savannah Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Laverna Manor Memory Care, Savannah.
