It’s Your Call for May 14

Do what's right for the citizens
I can't understand our city leaders. They have the money to carry up a nice-looking wall around Civic Center Park. They have the money to give a nonprofit organization $7 million for a pool, but they don't have the money to put in streetlights, sidewalks or fix our streets. Let's get our priorities in gear. Let's do what's right for the citizen first.
DMV is part of the problem
I'm calling in regards to the article in It's Your Call about the expired temporary tags, wanting to know when the mayor and the police were going to do something about it. I'm not saying there doesn't need to be something done, but I also think our Department of Motor Vehicles is part of the problem. They used to be open on Saturdays, at least half a day, a couple of Saturdays a month. They're no longer open on Saturdays anymore. There's a lot of people working that can't get off from work to go get it. I think until that problem is resolved and the DMV starts giving some customer service, you're going to have this problem. I called the governor's office. They told me they only have to be open 40 hours a week. That's 34 service hours for the working people.
Major lawsuit AKA the boat dock
I was just wondering if one of our lovely city officials might walk on over here to the riverfront and check out the major lawsuit called the boat dock. It has a near vertical climb up and down to the dock to the top of the bank. And it's extremely slippery, even when it's dry. God forbid you put some grippers on there.
Seems fishy
A $400 million airliner “gift," and the Trump family has a lot of Mid-East deals going. Sounds fishy to me.
