Foley, Randy 1959-2025 Troy, Kan.

TROY, Kan. – Randy Foley, 66, Troy, Kansas, formerly of Wathena, Kansas, died May 7, 2025, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph.
Randy was born March 5, 1959, in Spearville, Kansas, to Dwayne and Ethel Mae Foley. He grew up in Wathena and was a 1977 graduate of Wathena High School, later attending Washburn University.
In his teen years Randy enjoyed motorcycles and basketball, excelled in woodworking and was an avid water skier. Randy suffered a brain injury in a 1978 car crash that altered his life in many ways. Various jobs included farm work, typesetting and distribution for the Platte County Landmark, and lawn mowing. He enjoyed gardening, coin collecting and doing kind deeds for senior citizens.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and by Trudy Oglesby, his longtime partner.
He is survived by two brothers, Ivan (Linda) Foley, Platte City, Missouri, who was Randy’s legal guardian, and Dana Foley, Wathena. Surviving sisters are Gayla (Mike) Kiefer, Wathena, Nan Foley, Chandler, Arizona, Lori (Kevin) Vertin, Wathena, Trudy (Alan) Vertin, Platte City.
Randy’s wishes were to be cremated with a private service at a later date.
