Dry today, but rain chances return late Tuesday night

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Good morning folks. While it is a cool start, we are looking at a pleasant day across the Central Plains, with temperatures warming to back above average today. Highs are set to hit the low 70s for most of our cities today, with mid to high 70s tomorrow and Wednesday.

Rain chances will hold off between now and tomorrow afternoon, however the trend will start to change on Tuesday night. Late tomorrow, some showers and storms will be possible across the area, with rain becoming much more likely throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday. So while you can ditch the rain gear today, don't put it too far, because you'll definitely need it midweek.

There will be a couple light breezes this afternoon, but nothing substantial. Overall, today is another beautiful day in the area, so you may want to take advantage of the great outdoors while the weather is nice.
