Savannah (0-1) @ East Buchanan (1-0)

Savannah enters this contest in Gower off of a close loss to Pleasant Hill 14-12 last Friday at home. East Buchanan started its season last Saturday, getting off on the right foot with a 55-14 victory over Kansas City Central on the road.

Bishop LeBlond (1-0) v. Schuyler County (1-0)

The Golden Eagles are afforded their second straight home game to start the 2024 season. LeBlond hosts a Schuyler County team they lost 52-28 against last year on the Rams’ home field. Schuyler County enters this contest off of a 52-16 win over Seymour High School from Iowa. The Rams have won at least five games over the last two seasons.

Mid-Buchanan (1-0) v. Lexington (0-1)

The Dragons are on a quest for their seventh consecutive winning season under head coach Aaron Fritz and it got off to a good start with a 33-12 win over Midway last Friday on the road. Lexington has had its struggles as of recent, winning just two games each of the three seasons. The Minutemen enter Friday’s game in Faucett of a 27-20 loss to Lathrop of the KCI Conference.

St. Joseph Christian (1-0) v. Stewartsvile/Osborn (0-1)

The Lions dominated in their first game of the season last Friday against DeKalb, scoring 68 points in the opener led by senior Peyton Hausman and Christian’s fierce rushing attack. The Wildcards have seen better days. They’ve had one winning season in the last seven years and 2024 looks grim as Stewartsville enters a contest with the Lions off the heels of a 66-6 loss to Albany in Week 1.

Lafayette (1-0) @ Richmond (0-1)

Week 1 of the regular season hadn’t been kind to Lafayette, but the Fighting Irish were able to face those demons and secure their first opening night win since 2021 with a shutout victory over Center, a positive sign for second-year head coach Nate Daugherty and company. Lafayette will face a Richmond team that was only able to muster six points last week when it fell to Harrisonville.
