A $500,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development boosts the inspireU Children’s Discovery Center set to open late this year in Downtown St. Joseph.

The money will support planning, design and construction projects at the Mosaic Life Care Foundation’s center at 521 Felix St. The state also awarded the discovery center $484,796 last year for interactive learning experiences at inspireU.

“The support from local and state government has been tremendous and their belief in this project will positively impact Downtown St. Joseph,” said Mosaic Life Care Foundation President Julie Gaddie.

The facility will have 21 core exhibits and is on target to open in November or December.
