Gary Winckler, 85, St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.

He was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Irene Winckler. He grew up in Chicago. Gary proudly served his country in the military.

Gary married Judith Shafer, who survives of the home.

He was a meat cutter at several grocery stores, including Green Hills, in Savannah, Missouri, the Trading Post, and Thomas Market.

Gary was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Temple, now Riverside Baptist Church.

He loved hunting, fishing, and watching TV, especially political shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kristin Culver; and brother, Dale Winckler.

Survivors include his wife, Judith; children, Sheila Culver and Jeff Winckler; sister, Linda Ortiz; niece, Marrisa; and nephew, Johnathan.

Memorial Service 2 p.m. Saturday, Riverside Baptist Church. The family suggests memorial contributions to Riverside Baptist Church.
