A man riding a minibike suffered injuries after being hit by a car at South 12th and Pacific Streets Saturday afternoon.

The driver of a blue Pontiac Vibe collided with the man on the minibike, and the motorcyclist suffered head injuries. The injuries were described as minor to moderate, according to Sgt. Chris Thomas with the St. Joseph Police Department.

“The person on the bike hit the ground,” he said. “He was alert and awake, though.”

The call came in at 3:20 p.m., and the Pontiac had damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.

Thomas said he did not have information yet on whether the man was transported to Mosaic Life Care as of Saturday evening because the officers who worked the scene were on a separate call.
