Voters head to polls for Primary Election
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Buchanan County voters will head to the polls to advance who they would like to see as the next mayor of St. Joseph.
John Josendale, St. Joseph's mayoral incumbent, appears on the ballot again, alongside Jonathan McClain, Larry Miller and Ken Reeder.
A full list of participating polling locations can be found by going to the Buchanan County Clerk's website at www.co.buchanan.mo.us/february-3-2026-sample-ballot.
Polling locations opened at 6 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m. Individuals who arrive after the polling place has closed will not be allowed to vote; however, individuals in line at 7 p.m. are still able to do so.
To vote in the Primary Election, voters are required to bring a photo ID, such as a nonexpired Missouri driver's license, a nonexpired Missouri nondriver license, a U.S. Passport or a Military ID.
Voters must be U.S. citizens 17 years and six months of age or older and be a Missouri resident.
Since more than three candidates filed to run for mayor, the Primary Election is designed to weed out two candidates.
The top two candidates will be on the April 3 General Municipal Ballot.
