Monica Lynn Boeh, 38, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1987, in St. Joseph, to John and Andrea Boeh.

Monica graduated from St. Patrick’s grade school in 2002 and from Bishop LeBlond High School class of 2006. She then graduated from Missouri Western State University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education. Monica continued her education to receive her master’s degree in Education from Baker University in 2011.

Monica’s compassion for others led her to a career of service, and she was an experienced Consumer Director Services Specialist at MERIL, where she was employed for 12 years until her passing.

Monica’s talents extended beyond her role as a CDS specialist. She was also a published children’s author. She was born with FSHD muscular dystrophy and used an electric scooter. Her children’s book, “Rolling with the Punches”, helps children living with disabilities by offering a unique perspective on their challenges and triumphs. It also sends a powerful message about overcoming obstacles, finding acceptance in others, and most importantly, to never give up no matter what life throws at you.

Monica was a kind and compassionate person and through her work she helped others to navigate barriers so that in the end, like her, they could achieve independence. She was an avid reader and loved spoiling her nephew and niece, Henry and Madeline Kate. They adored their aunt Monica, and they will miss the scooter rides that she gave them. She was the best aunt that anyone could ask for.

Monica was preceded in death by her father, the Hon. John Boeh; her maternal grandparents, James and Rosemary Sparks; her paternal grandparents, Vincent and Geneva Boeh; her uncles, James Sparks, Gary Stehle, Bill Lark, and Steve Boeh; and her aunts, Valerie Stehle and Marilyn Boeh. She was also preceded in death by her cousin, Gary Michael Stehle.

Monica is survived by her mother, Andrea Boeh; her sister, Bethanee (Matthew) Hamilton; and her nephew and niece, Henry and Madeline Kate Hamilton. She also leaves behind her aunt, Maribeth (Ken) Lee; as well as many cousins and friends who loved her.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Waldeck as the celebrant. The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home with the Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. The internment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

In honor of Monica, whose life mission was helping others, donations are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.
