Whitsell, Beverly J. 1937-2026 Osage City, Kan.

OSAGE CITY, Kan. – Beverly Jean Mitchell Whitsell was born Feb. 9, 1937, to Ralph Mitchell and Virginia Rose (Firner) Mitchell, in Hiawatha Kansas. She passed peacefully at her home in Osage City, Kansas, on Jan. 2, 2026.

After high school, Bev married Don Whitsell. They had two children and later divorced.

Bev is survived by her son, Terry Don (Kim) Whitsell, and daughter, Ginny Jo Whitsell Millsaps. She is also survived by three brothers, Jim (JoAnn) Mitchell, Falls City, Nebraska, Bob (Barbara) Mitchell, Manassa, Virginia, and Ward (Debbie) Mitchell, Hiawatha; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Jan. 17 at the Leonard Clary Community Building, in Troy, Kansas, from 2 to 4 p.m. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
