Guinn, Carolyn 1944-2026 St. Joseph, Mo.

Carolyn “Susie” Guinn, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at her home in St. Joseph. She was born Jan. 30, 1944, in St. Joseph, daughter of Viola and William “Bill” McDowell.

Susie was a 1963 graduate of Benton High School. On Oct. 26, 1963, she married Bob Guinn. Susie was a dedicated homemaker. Some of her favorite times included making and collecting ceramic dolls and enjoyed taking quarter rides with Bob.

Susie was very devoted to her grandchildren, she had a special place in her heart for babies and will be remembered for her contagious laugh.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bud, Harold, Raymond, Ivan, and Bob McDowell; sisters, Mildred Bartch, Ellen Foreman and Doris Warren; and son-in-law, Jake Jackson.

Survivors include husband, Bob W. Guinn, of the home; daughters, Dee Anna (Roger) Ebling and Kari Jackson, all of St Joseph; sons, Steven (Kim) Guinn, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and Ryan (Kat) Guinn, of New Bern, North Carolina; sister, Billie Hamm, of St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Rupp Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Mejia officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Mrs. Guinn will be cremated following services and Inurnment will be a later date at Ashland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cornea Research Foundation of America or American Diabetes Association.
