Athletes with Missouri ties to play Hockey in Winter Olympics
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KQTV) -- Four Missouri Ice Hockey players made the cut to play in the 2026 Winter Olympics next month in Italy.
Clayton Keller, from Chesterfield, Missouri, is a captain and forward-man of the Utah Mammoth and makes the cut half a season removed from a career-best 90-point campaign. He ranks tied for the team lead in assists and points.
Matthew Tkachuk, also a forward, grew up in St. Louis but plays for the Florida Panthers. Tkachuk attended Chaminade College Preparatory School.
Tkachuk has also been a key figure on a Florida Panthers Club that's won back-to-back Stanley Cups.
His brother Brady attended the same school and is a captain and forward for the Ottawa Senators.
The 25-man team will look to secure an Olympic Gold Medal- something they haven't seen since 1980.
A few St. Louis Blues players will go home to represent their respective countries as well.
Goaltender Jordan Binnington and Defenseman Colton Parayko will suit up for Canada.
Defenseman Phillip Broberg will represent Sweden.
