Riggs, Brenda J. 1956-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Brenda Jo (Cunningham) Riggs, 69, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, in St. Joseph. She was born July 12, 1956, in St. Joseph, daughter of Florence and Robert Cunningham.

She graduated from Benton High School, class of 1974. She married Dennis Riggs on Jan. 29, 1999. She worked at Mead Products as a Line worker for 12 years. She enjoyed shopping and getting her nails done but most of all she loved being a wife and mother and taking care of her grandkids. She was a member of Rebekkah Lodge and Clarksdale Baptist Church.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cunningham; mother, Florence Vulgamott; step- brother, Rick Vulgamont; son, James White; and son- in-law, Percy Duncan.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Riggs; brother, Gary Cunningham Sr., of St. Joseph; sister, Rhonda (Bill) Puett, of Agency, Missouri; daughters, Amanda (Miguel) Hernandez and Dana Duncan, of Elwood, Kansas; family friend Madeline Steel; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Clarksdale Baptist Church.
