Brown, Norma G. 1943-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Norma Gene Brown, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, in St. Joseph. She was born Jan. 25, 1943, in St. Joseph, daughter of the late Hazel and James West.

She attended Benton High School and married John Brown March 25, 1951. Norma worked in food service at HP catering, also as a director at the Wesley House as the director of EOC, she also worked at Sherwood medical for 16 years.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, shopping and going to the river boat. She was a member of Faith United Baptist Church.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tracey Brown; three sisters: Mary Gray, Joann Hall, and Susie Long; two brothers, Jimmy West, and Marvin West.

Survivors include husband, John Brown of the home; sons, Steve (Sheila) Brown, and John Brown III; daughter, Tammy Brown; sisters; Alice Coats, Carol Clark and Margie Cowley; grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
