Dr. Steven Propst, 69, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. He was born on Dec. 27, 1955, to Paul and Marilyn (Wachter) Propst, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

For many years, Dr. Propst dedicated his career to the care and comfort of others as a skilled and respected dentist. His hands were a source of healing, and his office a place where both staff and patients became family.

Steven’s vigor for life extended far beyond his professional obligations. He was an avid skier, Kansas City Chiefs fan and tennis was another passion. Literature was among Steven’s cherished escapes, a testament to his lifelong love for learning and curiosity. His impressive record collection was more than just music, it was the soundtrack of his life, each album a cherished memory.

Traveling was a fervent pursuit for Steven, with each destination offering a wealth of experiences, flavors, and cultures to satiate his explorative spirit. He would also enjoy the planning before the travels he would do on a regular basis with his staff members, who he considered family. However, of all his joys, perhaps the simplest and most cherished was the delight of dining out with friends. These moments, filled with laughter, lively conversation, and delectable food, were the essence of Steven’s appreciation for life’s finer experiences.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Parker, whom he married in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 18, 1983; his mother, Marilyn; and his sister, Sandra Sneathen.

In the hearts of those who knew him, Dr. Steven Propst will be remembered as a beacon of life’s joyous possibilities and his memory will be treasured forever.
