Perks, LaDica C. 1943-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

LaDica Charlene Perks, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at a local health care facility. She was born June 3, 1943, in Sparks, Kansas, daughter of Gertrude and Charles Stowell.

On Sept. 12, 1959, she married John Perks, in St. Joseph. Charlene retired from the Elwood Schools (Riverside) as a cook. She enjoyed reading, playing video games, and bingo.

LaDica was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Perks; children, Johnny Perks, Rodney Perks, Candi Parsley; sisters, Carolyn Reed, Marolyn Kessler, Betty Bishop; grandsons, Jason Musser and Kodi Parsley; and great-granddaughter, Charlene Musser.

Survivors include children, Teresa (Johnny) Plymell, of St Joseph, Leona (Matt) Nickel, of Easton, Kansas, Randy (Melissa) Perks, of Stewartsville, issouri, and Teddy (Barb) Perks, of St Joseph; daughter-in-law, Darlene Perks, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Interment to follow services at the Bethel Cemetery, DeKalb, Missouri. Memorials are requested to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
