Davidson Jr., Johnnie L. 1961-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Johnnie “John” Lee Davidson Jr., age 64, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2025. Born on Aug. 26, 1961, to Johnnie Davidson Sr. and Donna McPheter Davidson.
John was known for his easygoing nature and selfless spirit. He found joy in the simple things, fishing, tending to his yard, KC sports, and cooking for those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Davidson Sr.; and sisters, Melody (John) Starr, Cindy (Maurice “Russ”) Russell Davidson, and Glenda “Gail” Davidson.
John leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his mother, Donna Davidson; his best friend and soulmate, Christy Caddell, and their beloved dog Mango; his children, Brittany (Michael) Ponce, Matthew (Kelsey) Davidson, and Jason Trump; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Sophia, Luca John, Jason Jr., and one expected in June 2026; siblings, Kelly (Dennis) Gentry, Barbara O’Neal, Stoney Davidson, Darryl (Michelle) Davidson, Scott Davidson, and Chris (Amy) Davidson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
John lived a life marked by kindness, hard work, and quiet generosity. John’s presence was a quiet comfort to many, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Celebration of Life and potluck dinner will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the NALC Local 195 hall, at 2301 St. Joseph Ave., St. Joseph, MO 64505. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
