Alfred Lee Boyer, 66, of St Joseph, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at University of Kansas Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born Nov. 15, 1958, in St. Joseph, son, of Joyce and Alva Lee Boyer.

Al graduated from Benton High School, class of 1977. On July 3, 1981, he married Rita Ashler. Al worked at Car City, where he retired after 40 years in 2018 as a Service Manager. Al was a member of The American Mountain Men, Son’s of American Revolution, Mic-O-Say tribe, holding the rank of Medicine Man – Brown Bull, and he attended Agency United Methodist Church.

Alfred truly loved his wife, kids, and grandkids. He loved all his family and friends, which he instilled his love for the outdoors, Native American artifacts, Classic Cars, Taxidermy, and American History. He devoted 54 years to his self-taught hobby of Taxidermy.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Mark Boyer; and father/ mother in-law, John and Minnie Ashler.

Survivors include wife of 44 years, Rita Boyer, of the home; children, William (Jessica) Boyer, of St. Joseph, Andrew (Melanie) Boyer, of Agency, Missouri, Bethany (Joshua) Smith, of St. Joseph, Phillip (Kadi) Boyer, of Oregon, Missouri; brothers, Alan Boyer, of Easton, Missouri, and Mike (Jackie) Boyer, of St. Joseph; his grandchildren, Mollie, Ruby, Wyatt, Kirby, Warren, Jeremiah, and Henry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. Interment to follow services at Bethel Cemetery, DeKalb, Missouri. Memorials are requested to the American Mountain Men.
