Health care professionals address crises in Persisterhood meeting

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- A Persisterhood informational meeting will host three health care professionals who will address looming crises in the medical field.
The meeting, titled "Our Bodies Under Siege," will be in panel format.
Medical Doctor and University of Missouri-Kansas City Instructor, Charles Mullican, Retired Family Nurse Practitioner, Diane Waddell and Mosaic Life Care CEO, Mike Poore, will speak at the meeting.
Buchanan County Women's Democratic President, Michelle Mears, will moderate the panel. If time permits, panelists will answer questions submitted by audience members.
"We should all be worried. The last six previous Surgeons General (Republicans and Democrats alike) published a letter on October 7 declaring 'the nation's health is at a profound, immediate and unprecedented risk' because 'science and expertise have taken a backseat to ideology and misinformation' under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy," said Jane Frick, the St. Joseph Persisterhood coordinator.
The informational meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Rolling Hills Library's Upper Story Community Room at 1904 N. Belt Highway.
The informational meeting is open to the public and will be made available on Zoom. Both the door and the Zoom will open at 5:45 p.m.
More information on the panel can be found on the Persisterhood's Facebook.
