Crews respond to residential structure fire

Heavy smoke fills the area due to a structure fire on North 24th Street.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- The St. Joseph Fire Department is working the scene of a structure fire Friday evening on North 24th Street.

The residential structure fire is near the intersection of North 24th and Jones streets.

A reporter at the scene witnessed heavy smoke in the area and fire trucks blocking off the roadway. A video submitted to News-Press NOW shows flames engulfing a section of the structure around the back of the building.

News-Press NOW reached out to SJFD to confirm details of this fire and, as of Friday night, have not received any information.
