Kneib, Greg 1958-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Greg Kneib, 66, of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, while preparing for bed. He was born on Oct. 18, 1958, in St. Joseph, to Kenneth and Luticia "Tish" Kneib.

Greg graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner. Following his service he worked as a welder at Altec Industries, Inc. until his retirement. Later he became a facility caretaker at St. Francis Xavier School, where he greatly enjoyed the daily interaction with students that affectionately called him Mr. Greg. He retired in 2023.

An avid outdoorsman, Greg enjoyed hunting and fishing, winning a Master Angler Award for a giant catfish he caught in the river that runs through the family farm. Greg especially loved riding motorcycles and always had one since he first got his driver's license.

Greg is survived by his mother, Tish Kneib; his brother, Stephen Kneib; his sisters, Pam Przybylski (Clem) and Paula Crotty; his brother, David Kneib; and numberous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Kneib, and younger brother, Adam Kneib.

A Prayer Service will be held for Greg at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at noon in our chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
