Dugan, Eva 1928-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Eva Dugan passed away peacefully on Aug.8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Eva was a woman of faith, kindness, and generosity. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and trusted in Him throughout her life, finding comfort and peace in her faith until the very end. She was a devoted member of Maxwell Heights Presbyterian Church for over 70 years, where she was active in the church’s Women’s Association and Prayer Group. She dearly loved her church family. She shared a loving 35-year marriage with John Dugan, who meant the world to her, cherishing their years together and the family they built.
From 1948 to 1990, Eva served as a nurse, taking great pride in knowing she could make a positive difference in the lives of others through her care and compassion.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, John Dugan; her parents, Robert and Verna Agee; her sister, Betty Jeschke; her son, William M. Hoskins; her first husband, William Hoskins, with whom she shared two children, Anna O’Callaghan and William M. Hoskins; and her great-grandchild, Trey Owen Bricker.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Agee (Dorothy); daughter, Anna O’Callaghan; stepdaughters, Saundra Barquist and Vicki Smith, and their families; grandchildren, Billie Bricker (Rodger), Jessica Paxton (Junior), and Jeff O’Callaghan (Beth); great-grandchildren, Taylor Weese (Brett), Cory O’Callaghan (Kendra), Kristyna Brown (Kali), Eliot O’Callaghan, Johanna Judah (Sam), and Nolan O’Callaghan; great-great-grandchildren, Carter O’Callaghan, Kaden O’Callaghan, Kambryn O’Callaghan, Kalian Sarr, and Nova Weese. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva had a gift for bringing people together, whether for holidays, simple visits, or just sharing a laugh. Her love for her family showed in countless ways, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, togetherness, and faith that will be felt for generations. The family wishes to give special thanks to Three Rivers Hospice, Kendra Mowen, and Kristyna Brown for their exceptional care. Eva deeply appreciated the compassion and dedication they showed, keeping her clean, comfortable, and surrounded by love until her final day.
Eva will be remembered always for her faith in Jesus, her devotion to her church, the deep love she shared with her husband, the love she gave, and the joy she brought to those lucky enough to know her.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10 a.m. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
