Two cars collided head on at 401 E. Hyde Park Ave. causing four injuries on Thursday evening.

A wreck involving two cars caused four injuries Thursday evening around 6 p.m. at 401 E. Hyde Park Ave.

Only one individual was taken to the hospital with minor injuries by an ambulance, the other three refused.

St. Joseph Police Officer Casey Guyer said the crash occurred when a Mazda took an evasive maneuver to avoid rear-ending a car that had braked. The Mazda went into oncoming traffic and collided with a Buick.

Police were called at 5:54 p.m. and responded to the scene within three minutes.
