High School Football playoff matchups: District Quarterfinals

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (News-Press NOW) -- The moment has come for area high school football teams to compete in state playoffs.

Games will begin on Thursday, Oct. 30 and continue on Friday, Oct. 31. Some area teams will also be serving bye weeks, as they prepare to resume matchups next week.

Thursday matchups:

  • Central Indians fall to the Staley Falcons 56-13
  • Savannah Savages shut out the Northeast Kansas City Vikings 78-0
  • Benton Cardinals fall to the Smithville Warriors 45-6

Friday matchups:

  • Lafayette Fighting Irish fall to the Chillicothe Hornets 14-19
  • Riverside Cyclones defeat the Wabaunsee Chargers 34-0
  • DeKalb Tigers fall to the Stewartsville WildCards 32-48
  • Cameron Dragons defeat the Trenton Bulldogs 66-13
  • East Buchanan fall to Lawson Cardinals 21-56

The following area teams will be on a bye week:

  • Bishop LeBlond Golden Eagles (5-4)
  • St. Joseph Christian Lions (4-5)
  • Mid-Buchanan Dragons (9-0)
  • North Platte Panthers (5-4)
  • West Platte Blue Jays (6-3)
