The St. Joseph Mustangs came out on top against the Clarinda A’s with a final score of 6-3 on Monday night in Clarinda, Iowa.
Although the A’s started off the game by scoring in the bottom of the first, the Mustangs didn’t let it faze them. With Brady Holden at the plate, the Mustangs sent Jackson Wagner and Max Mircovich home, putting the Mustangs on the board. The A’s then proceeded to score at the bottom of the second and third innings, putting the score at 3-2.
The Mustangs quickly changed the pace of the game, scoring for the next four innings. Logan Rycraft scored in the top of the fourth after Holden stepped up to bat. During the fifth, Hampton Hudson headed to home plate after a hit by Dylan Ketch. At the top of the sixth, Holden was at-bat again when Wagner scored again. The scoring streak ended at the top of the seventh after Drew Beazley scored the final run of the game on an RBI from Mircovich.
Overall the team had six runs, eight hits, one error and seven RBI’s. This was the eighth win in a row for the Mustangs. The Mustangs will be home tonight against the A’s at Phil Welch Stadium in St. Joseph.
