Seven former athletes and one team will make up the Griffon Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2019 announced Friday.

The induction class will include: men’s basketball’s Reggie Alexander; football’s Jarrett Brooks; women’s tennis player Tracy Jones; women’s basketball player Jessica Koch Williams; women’s golf’s Taria Roth; baseball’s Michael Schulze, softball’s Kara Under Rosonke; and the 1994-95 men’s basketball team.

Alexander set a record with 50 blocked shots in 1999 and set the former record with 458 points. He went on to be a two-time all-region selection.

Brooks ranks in the top-10 all-time for the Griffons with 21 receiving touchdowns, 133 catches and 2,099 receiving yards. He is also among the top three in kick and punt returns. He went on to be All-MIAA and All-American.

Jones led MWSU to the NCAA postseason in 1998 with three top-three MIAA finishes. She finishes second twice in singles and third once.

Koch scored 1,776 career points for the Griffons and still holds the all-time scoring record. She also ranks first in free throws, second in made fields goals, third in assists and fifth in 3-pointers. She averaged 22 points per game during the 2011-12 season. She was named an All-American after her senior year after earning MIAA Freshman of the Year in 2009.

Roth, who also played basketball, was once ranked 36th in the country. She won seven tournaments, ranking second all-time at MWSU.

Schulze was the 2013 National Player of the Year, MIAA Players of the Year and Regional Player of the Year, among multiple other honors. He hit .439 in his 2013 year, hitting .400 for his career on the way to the 2013 MIAA Championship. He was drafted in the 19th round by the Cardinals.

Under was a two-time first team All-MIAA pick, leading Western to its first postseason appearance. Her .609 slugging percentage ranks third at MWSU. She also went 14-7 with a 2.64 ERA.

The ‘95 men’s basketball team won the MIAA tournament and regular season titles. They reached as high as No. 4 in the nation, finishing 26-4 overall.

The class will be honored during Hall of Fame Weekend, being honored at a private reception Friday, October 25. They will participate in a ring ceremony Saturday, October 26 during the football game against Emporia State.
