Central scored its first points of the season, put it came in the midst of a 28-point deficit in a 52-7 loss Friday against Park Hill South at the Park Hill District Stadium.

Central’s lone score came on a 98-yard punt return by Austin White midway through the second quarter to cut the deficit to 28-7. The loss brings Central’s record to 0-3, while the Panthers improved to 2-1 after a win against Platte County last week.

The Panthers jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a pair of touchdown passes. Another rushing scored and touchdown toss in the second built the lead to 28-0.

Matt Suchanick threw his fourth touchdown of the first half with 2:17 to play.

He threw another touchdown in the third and added an interception return off a Quentin Trotter throw.

A field goal in the fourth capped off the scoring.

Central threw for just 13 yards and rushed for 2, totaling 15 yards of offense.

Suchanick completed 17 of 23 passes for 277 yards.

Central will take on Truman next week at Noyes Field.
