Boxing will return to Phil Welch Stadium in 2019.

Travis Hartman, an Osborn, Missouri, native, will bring another card of boxing back on Friday, June 28, the Mustangs announced Friday.

Hartman has held boxing events at Phil Welch two times before and wants to see more people invest in the sport in the area.

“I love boxing and I love my hometown area,” Hartman said. “I think that boxing on a bigger scene is peaking at an all-time high and continues to grow. I know that we have huge talent in Missouri, and I want to show all of our fans that the guys fighting on my card — they’re going to be on national television really, really soon.”

The Mustangs are on the road June 28 against the Sedalia Bombers.

“Phil Welch is the perfect outdoor venue, and Travis puts together top-notch matches that make for great entertainment,” Mustangs general manager Ky Turner said. “It’s great to see the local boxers and talent. We’re excited about the opportunity to provide such a fun, unique setting for what has become a really great event.”

More information regarding the times, how to purchase tickets and the card will be available at a later date.
