Newspaper in Education

News in Education (NIE) is an educational program, blending classroom instruction with news coverage – newspapers, TV and online – for teachers and students, grades K-12, in all educational venues and subject areas.

Classroom newspapers are provided at no cost to the schools, thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors and individual newspaper subscribers. This vital educational resource keeps students informed of the daily events happening around them and gives them ways to tie in valuable lessons with current events.

NIE resources available:

• Classroom newspapers

• eEdition (digital) newspapers and website access

• Applicable lesson ideas provided on a daily basis

• Student activities and content in the paper

• Local classroom presentations

• Teacher training and resources

• Spelling Bee participation

Teachers / Educators! To register your classrooms for newspapers / eEditions and to begin receiving free lesson ideas, contact Diane Good, News In Education Director, at (816) 271-8642 or diane.goold@newspressnow.com.
